The Messenger Support Blog has today been updated adding further error code troubleshooting articles as many people have been getting hit with the 8xxxxxxx error codes when logging in with the newer versions since Windows Live Messenger 8.0.

Selected photos from Picasa can not be tranfered to window live hot mail as attachments…not one or five as it used to do it.

I couldn’t log in to my msn live beta today ,there is a troubleshoot 80004002 if anyone knows what that means and how to solve it pls tell me.
Last week i had the exact same problem and after searching for a solution i found one .

I have been trying to download and install Live Messenger fo 1 week now. At the end gets several error messages…nothing is install..Error message..0×80004004 is one of them…Does anyone have a fix for this…I already tried Registry clean and fix errors…makes no difference
I’ve been getting the 80004004 error too.. And I can’t even uninstall the Windows Live programmes, I get error 2923.
Same problem: Full install seems to be finished (100% ready). Then everything is rolled back until zero.
Microsoft seems to have complete screwed up the installation of the latest release. They used to be good at testing software but lately they seem to be rushing code out without worrying about upsetting the users. It’s particularly annoying for those of us who installed beta versions to help make the product better! Get it together Microsoft!
Yeh i chose to use the windows live beta, went to install the new 2009, and its completely screwed. It rollsback and now its giving me the 80004002 error, any ideas?
I found a solution for the 80004004 problem (German Windows XP):
Download the unsupported “Windows Installer CleanUp” (msicuu2.exe) from support.microsoft.com/kb/290301/de.
Run msicuu2.exe and uninstall any Windows Live Beta application.
Reinstall the full Windows Live 2009 package.
There was even no reboot required.

me meti a la pag de support de Microsoft, busque ese programa (aunque lo baje en ingles)”Windows Installer CleanUp”, lo instale, lo corri y busque todo lo que fuera referente a Live Messenger (Live Call, SegoUI, etc.) y le di REMOVE… instale de nuevo el Live MSN y voila!

I am using XP.
just wanna share with those who have difficulties in signing in new windows live messenger 2009 with error 80004002.
there is no need to download new file, update things, clear cache (as suggested by many websites)
to get rid of error 80004002 when signing in WLM 2009.
simply go to control panel, remove/uninstall windows live essential. after clicking on it, there will be option whether to repair or uninstall.
click repair. after that, restart and try to sign in.
for me this works well. =)
I keep getting the error code 8e5e713 with the new version of Windows Live Messenger, which happens nearly every time I log in. Can anybody help with a permanent solution to this.

If u wanna uninstall ur Windows live and u dont have it in control panel use … Run then type in “msiexec /x {0AAA9C97-74D4-47CE-B089-0B147EF3553C}” and then uninstall it….. …. and i have prob with WIndows live 80004002 error can some1 help me… if i install 8.1 i can sign in but always Quit me from WLM…. IM Using LAST XP!
