How to create emoticons using IrfanView and Advanced GIF Animator

Windows Live Messenger

This tutorial will show you how to quickly create emoticons using IrfanView (a freeware image viewer & editor) and Advanced GIF Animator (a ‘get-what-you-pay-for’ GIF animator).

  1. Use Irfanview to cut out the main part of the image you want to keep, while keeping the width and height the same as each other.

  2. Close and re-open InfanView, paste the cut image and resize it to whatever size you want. 50×50 or 43×43 works best.

    IrfanView

  3. Save the resized image to a .gif using the highest quality.

  4. Add the saved image to Advanced GIF Animator.

  5. Add as many loops and images as your heart desires.
  6. Change the delay between each frame/image to whatever you want. 1.20 of a second works best for slideshows.
  7. Save the image and import it into Messenger.

I’ll try to make another tutorial on how to do this, but with GIMP instead of AdGif because GIMP is FREE.

Have you created another tutorial on how to do this with GIMP?

If so, where can I find it?

    Have a nice weekend.
