IMhaha is a multi-network Web based messenger that supports four of the top instant messaging services including MSN, Yahoo!, AIM and QQ (China’s leading IM with over 200 million active users).
Using a Web based messenger like IMhaha is useful at school or work where Windows Live Messenger might be blocked or you are not allowed to use instant messaging, as it allows you to sign in using just your Web browser.
The service has been around since early last year, so in some cases it may be blocked where instant messaging is not allowed.
TechAddress has an interview with IMhaha, revealing more about the Silicon Valley based startup such as what sets them apart from other similar services, and an explanation about the interesting name.

All the rumors of late can now be put to rest as the latest version of Windows Live Messenger has now been officially released and it’s no longer in beta. So what’s new?
- Obviously it’s no longer a beta product
- Supports 8 new languages (Bulgarian, Croatian, Estonian, Latvian, Romanian, Serbian Latin, Thai and Ukrainian)
- Improved Vista Compatibility
- Various bug fixes to improve connectivity
It’s here to download. Also worth mentioning, Mess Patch has been updated for the latest version and as always available at http://www.mess.be.
Also on a sidenote, Windows Vista and Microsoft Office 2007 were released the same day.
You may have seen the popular MySpace movie, which parodies the basics of MySpace, or even the YouTube movie. But have you seen the MSN movie?
MSN: The Movie parodies some of the basics of MSN Messenger, but with real people. There’s no boring instant message windows showing conversation like you might expect. Instead, it goes creative and has two actors speaking in each scene with captions of what they would be saying online.
I’m not sure what the pop ups part is referring to, but still, it gave me a laugh.

This tutorial will show you how to quickly create emoticons using IrfanView (a freeware image viewer & editor) and Advanced GIF Animator (a ‘get-what-you-pay-for’ GIF animator).

For the past week or so I have ran some tests to see how well phishing works on regular, non-tech geeks. It appears that a lot of people actually fall for phishing, even when the URL of the phishing site is totally different to that of what the ‘phisher’ trying to mimic. So far roughly 5 of my friend’s mates have fallen for phishing.
For those of you that don’t really know what phishing is, here’s a screen shot of the phishing site: (click for full size)

I just wanted to tell people that looks may be deceiving and not to always trust sites that say that they’ll give you something for free, such as emoticons or display pictures.
Nothing is free…
