Mess forum visitors are reporting that a new build of Windows Live Messenger has been released on the get.live.com Messenger site.
So far there seems to be no major differences between build 812 and the last release, build 792. I am guessing it is just some bug fixes that didn’t make it into the final release. The previously reported password weakness remains the same.
The installer is dated July 29th and is only about 90kB larger, TheSteve tells me the following files have changed:
- abssm.dll
- contactsUX.dll
- custstat.dll (now signed)
- lcapi.dll
- lcmdata.dll
- MessengerClient.dll (a little)
- msncall.exe
- msncore.dll
- msnmsgr.exe
- msvs.exe (bigger now)
Regarding lack of updates here, things are a bit slow in the community and I’m a little busy, although I am getting some things together for a site refresh is the coming months.
I cannot connect to my friends on line with the new live messnger on web cam and audio it dosent work why??

My webcam isn’t working it comes up with an error on the screen and it freezes msn.
im having the same problem as james, whenever i try to start webcam the person im talking to accepts then an error somes up and i have to close msn and i am logged out

there seems to be a issue with appearing online. many people like me are appearing offline when we are actually online. stupid msn released a new version with more bugs.
the msn service is not good at all.

dont bother with this program when NOW yahoo IM is MUCH MUCH BETTER and now u r able to contact all your MSN friends using just yahoo IM
I cannot make PC to Phone calls. The options are not available in any of my menus. Neither are there any icons on my GUI.

Just recently started having web cam issues after MSN Live, it works fine then randomly cuts off after afew mins of being on. Or the other person can just see an ad for Lavalife instead of me on Web Cam.

Msn 8.0 is a VIRUS they say it’s a beta “leakd version” these people have made msn 8.0 a VIRUS THATS WHY U CANT SIGN IN THATS WHY EVERTHING IS SCREWD this virus sends ur name and u saying a link for other people to download this. Please for the sake of msn and to keep it safe for everyone do NOT download msn 8.0 until it comes out on the msn website (IF IT DOES or the real recomended site )

windows live messenger big problem when i sign in it sign ot automatically and i cant chat even if i try to chat after a while it sign out and it says that it was unable to send the message.thats really a big problem but am having this problem on vista. if anyone can help plz do so.thx
I’m experiencing webcam problem on msn live 8.0 too. After reading some forums and threads, I am wondering if my problem does lie within msn live msger itself. I’m residing in Asia and starting two days ago, my webcam on msn live msger keeps freezing at some point and shuts off by itself, while the other party’s webcam is still functioning. At first I thought it was my built-in webcam’s problem (on my laptop), but when I was chatting with my webcam on my desktop at my office, the same thing keeps happening. I also used ccleaner to clean/fix my laptop and desktop, but it is still happening. The weird thing is, I’ve been using live msger since it came out on msn’s website and I use my webcam a lot and this was never such a problem until two days ago. I even uninstalled and re-installed the live msger and it didn’t do any good. I don’t know why my webcam keeps shutting off by itself. Anybody got an idea? I am desperate for a solution… sigh.
I had a Logitech WEB cam and was fine. My kids got me the new LIVE CAM Video pro.I upgraded msn and the sound went away.
I can hear the kids but they cannot hear me.
MSN is the issue not the sound cards or the computer in any manner
They best do a patch of some sort ASAP. I am ready to dump them.
I guess I will try the 8.0.0812 and see if it is fixed.
I read one site that said the new computers come with the base MSN and that can intefere… as one overrides the other. I do not see that happening here.
But ?I have no voice still .
I expect we all need MSN to fix this one? Other suggestions?

I need help, whenever i try to download Messenger Plus! Live it says that it cant find the file “msncore.dll” and i tried download the file but it still wouldnt work:S

Dont download windows 8.0 I hear its a virus.
thats why it wont let u sign in or anything
so dont download it.
I think its the one i accidentally dowloaded now my msn wont work

i got a virus from msn now it says i have no cantacts (contactux.dll) and i cant im on any site reply on face book or anything i honestly think that msn should have to fix all of it for no charge cuz its there fault
