You had to be a managed beta tester to receive the gift, people who tested that were invited via http://ideas.live.com, by friends or when it went public do not count, sorry guys.
Managed testers meaning you had access to the Microsoft Newsgroups and Microsoft Connect, with Windows Live Messenger 8 Beta in your “My Participation” list.
