Third party plugin issues

Windows Live Messenger

Many using Windows Live Messenger 8.0.0562 and beyond will notice that many third party plugins other than the official one for Windows Media Player won’t display the artist of the song. Thankfully if you use Winamp, Shane Hurd has updated his plugin.

Error double trouble

Windows Live Messenger

Sign in issues are a problem many Messenger users face. To help find out what the problem might be, we are presented with an error code, but what happens when there are two error codes at once? I don’t know myself, but I just experienced it.

Error double trouble

The 80048820 error I see regularly, usually just when it times out, but the 80048411 I have never seen and I can’t find anyone else who has reported getting it. My guess is it’s just a quirk in the current release of Windows Live Messenger. Would be interested to hear from anyone else who has experienced anything similar.

More Windows Live Messenger invites

Windows Live Messenger

Within the last 24-48 hours, we’ve received and posted over 100 new Windows Live Messenger Invites. If you are one of the few who haven’t had the pleasure of using it, head over to the forum and grab one! If you’ve already accepted an invite, don’t be greedy, spread the love!

For those with invites and don’t know what to do with them, why not donate them to other users. Send them to adrian@fanatic.net.nz and we’ll get rid of them for you with a kind thank you to go with it.

A new build (8.0.0566) of Windows Live Messenger has been made available for testers, including the invited users. Changes in this update include another interface change with a few fixes/changes as well as the introduction of a new Messenger buddy image. Also, integration with Windows Live Contacts has now been enabled in this version. For a look at some of the changes, check out these screenshots.
