New .pif worm propagates through MSN Messenger

Keane posted on the forums about another MSN Messenger worm doing the rounds. Labeled as Bropia.A by F-Secure, it spreads by sending itself as “Drunk_lol.pif”, “Webcam_004.pif”, “sexy_bedroom.pif”, “naked_party.pif” or “love_me.pif” to the users contacts. If you get a file transfer request with one of these files, do not accept it! Do not be fooled by the extension PIF being like GIF, it is definitely not an image.

F-Secure has a report on the worm.

MSN Protocol Wiki

Keane writes:

A new wiki called MSNPiki has been set up to eventually replace Hypothetic. Hypothetic is a great resource with great people, but it is extremely out of date, it’s time we moved to a more open system.

Thanks to Daniel for the hosting.
