Stop “Messenger Service” spam

The annoying spam windows entitled “Messenger Service” have nothing do with MSN Messenger or Windows Messenger, they are actually from a Windows service. Here’s how to turn it off:

1. Click Start and then Control Panel
2. Click Administrative Tools
3. Click Services
4. Locate Messenger, right-click select on your mouse and select Properties
5. Under General tab / Startup Type select disabled from the drop down menu
6. Click The Stop button
7. Click OK to save
